Creating a new user-defined file system
A user-defined file system (UDFS) is a file system that you create and define the attributes for. UDFSs reside in auxiliary storage pools (ASPs) on the system.
To create a new user-defined file system (UDFS), follow these steps:
- Expand your system in iSeries Navigator > File Systems > Integrated File System > Root > Dev.
- Click the auxiliary storage pool (ASP) that you want to contain the new UDFS.
- Select New UDFS from the File menu.
- Specify the UDFS name, description (optional), auditing values, default file format, default scanning attribute, and whether the files in the new UDFS will have case-sensitive file names on the New User-Defined File System dialog.
