Setting up source files
You can either create a source file or use an IBM-supplied source file.
- Why source files are used
A source file contains input (source) data that is needed to create some types of objects. A source file is used when a command alone cannot provide sufficient information for creating an object.
- Creating a source file
Before creating a source file, you should first create a library. Then use the Create Source Physical File (CRTSRCPF), Create Physical File (CRTPF), or Create Logical File (CRTLF) command to create a source file.
