Copying a file

 

You can copy a file using iSeries Navigator or the Copy File (CPYF) command.

Using iSeries Navigator

  1. Expand the system you want to use.

  2. Expand Databases.

  3. Expand the database and schema that you want to work with.

  4. Click the Tables container.

  5. Right-click the table and click Copy.

  6. Right-click the schema you want to copy the table to and click Paste.
The operation is performed using DDM over TCP/IP.

TCP communications must be enabled between the systems as they are known to iSeries Access.

The Copy File (CPYF) command copies all or part of a database or an external device file to a database or an external device file.
