Migrate the Search and Browse portlet between portal versions

This topic describes how you migrate a Search and Browse portlet between portal versions.

In the configuration of the Search and Browse portlet, the parameter IndexName has been replaced by CollectionLocation for portal Version 6. Therefore, if you migrate from previous portal versions and have the Search and Browse portlet deployed, you need to transfer the value from the old to the new parameter manually. You do this in the Manage Portlets portlet. Proceed as follows:

  1. Click Main Menu > Administration > Portlet Management > Portlets. The portal shows the Manage Portlets portlet.

  2. Locate the Search and Browse portlet.

  3. Click the Configure icon.

  4. Copy the value from the parameter IndexName to the parameter CollectionLocation. You might have to review all pages of the parameter list to find both parameters.

  5. Save your changes.

  6. Restart the portal for your changes to take effect.

Notes:

  1. If you migrate from a portal version previous to Version 6.0, both parameters IndexName andCollectionLocation are available for the Search and Browse portlet, but only CollectionLocation works.

  2. You have to perform these steps for all instances of the Search and Browse portlet that you deployed in the portal.
