Accepting or rejecting a draft

Use the draft approval workflow to approve or reject a review document.

In order to review, edit or accept a document that has been submitted for approval, the user must have the Editor role on the document. The draft approval process streamlines writing, editing and approval of documents. There are two roles in the draft approval process: author and reviewer. An author creates and edits a document until it is ready for review. A reviewer can approve or reject a draft document. Once a draft document is approved, it becomes visible to all authorized users. A rejected document is returned to the author for additional work.

To accept or reject a document as a reviewer...

  1. Open your Submitted Drafts folder.

  2. Click the document name to open it.

  3. If you want to approve the document, click Accept. Once you click Accept, the document becomes public.

  4. If you want to make changes to the document, click Edit.

  5. If you made edits to the document, and you believe the document is ready for public viewing, click Save, then click Accept to make the document public.

  6. If you made edits to the document, and you want to return the document to the author, click Save, then click Reject to send it back to the author for revisions.

When a submitted draft is approved and the document is published (publicly available), Document Manager displays the last modifier of the document, as well as the last modified timestamp. The values of these document properties vary depending on whether locking is enabled or disabled, and whether the document was locked or unlocked when the submitted draft was approved.

If locking is enabled, and

If locking is disabled, then the published document shows:
