Disabling automatic syndication

In some cases you might choose to rely only on manual syndication to have complete control over when syndication occurs. To do this, disable automatic syndication.

When automatic syndication is disabled, the syndication interval setting is ignored.

1. To disable automatic syndication, edit the WCMConfigService.properties file in the portal_server_root/wcm/shared/app/wcmservices directory.

2. Change the value of the connect.moduleconfig.syndication.inittasks property to false.

3. After you save the changes, restart WebSphere Portal Express to cause the new setting to take effect.
