Giving users browser access to Notes-based portlets

Modifying the Domino Server document in the Domino Directory database supports the use of the Notes-based portlets through users' browsers.

You apply these settings in the Server document of each Domino messaging/application server in the portal environment.

Perform the following steps:

  1. On the Domino server that you are configuring, start the Lotus Domino Administrator client.

  2. Open the Domino Directory (address book) (NAMES.NSF) database.

  3. Change to the Server > Servers view.

  4. Double-click the name of the server you are configuring. The Server document opens.

  5. Make the following changes to the Server document:

    1. On the Basics tab, make sure the Fully Qualified Internet Host Name field contains the fully qualified name that users enter in the browser to access this server.

    2. Switch to the Ports tab. On the Notes Network Ports sub-tab, make sure the top line has the Port set to TCPIP and the Net Address set to the fully qualified name of the server. Make sure this port is set to Enabled.

    3. Switch to the Internet Protocols tab. On the HTTP sub-tab, select Yes for the option Allow HTTP Clients To Browse Databases.

  6. Save and close the Server document and restart the Domino server.
