Enable a third-party authentication server to work with the Common PIM portlets

If IBM® Lotus® Domino® is your back-end system and your WebSphere Portal Express installation is configured for single sign-on through a third-party authentication system such as Computer Associates eTrust SiteMinder, messaging portlets such as Common Mail and Common Calendar require parameters to identify and pass third-party cookies, request headers, or both to the Lotus Domino server.

Perform the following steps for any instances of the Common Mail or Common Calendar portlet deployed in your site.

  1. Log in as portal administrator.

  2. Click Administration.

  3. Click Portlet Management, then click Portlets.

  4. Select the portlet you are modifying, for example, Mail.

  5. Click the wrench icon.

  6. If the third-party authentication server relies on one or more cookies, type CPP_PassHttpCookies in the New parameter field, type one or more values (for example, type SMSESSION for eTrust SiteMinder) in the New value field, and then click Add. Use a semicolon to separate multiple values (for example, cookie1;cookie2).

  7. If the third-party authentication server relies on one or more HTTP headers, type CPP_PassHttpHeaders in the New parameter field, type one or more values in the New value field, and then click Add. Use a semicolon to separate multiple values (for example, header1;header2).

  8. Click OK.
