Enable People Finder for anonymous users

If you grant access to anonymous users for any page containing the People Finder portlet, also grant them access to a hidden page, and to a dynamic person tag portlet that support awareness in People Finder. In addition, enable session use for anonymous users.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Log in to the portal as an Administrator.

  2. Select Administration from the portal main menu.

  3. In the list on the left, under Access, click Resource Permissions.

  4. In the list on the right under Resource Types, click Pages.

  5. Use Search to locate the page in your site where you have added the People Finder portlet.

  6. Click the key icon under Assign Access.

  7. For the role User, click the pencil icon, and then clickAdd.

  8. Select Anonymous Portal User, and then click OK as necessary to save the change.

  9. Still under Resource Permissions > Resource Types > Pages, select Unique name contains , and search for "ibm.portal.Person.Tag" to locate the hidden page.

  10. Repeat steps 6 through 8 to assign access for the hidden page.

  11. In the list under Resource Types, click Portlets,

  12. Make sure Title contains is selected, and search for "dynamic" to locate the hidden portlet with the title Dynamic Person Tag.

  13. Repeat steps 6 through 8 to assign access for the hidden portlet.

  14. Use Search to locate the People Finder portlet.

  15. Repeat steps 6 through 8 to assign access for the People Finder portlet.

  16. Click Logout.

  17. Set the following property in the WP NavigatorService from the IBM® WebSphere® Application Server Administrative Console. For more information, see Setting configuration properties and Navigator Service.

    public.session = true
