Step 1: Plan your migration
Complete these steps before you migrate to WebSphere Application Server Version 6.0.
- Before you can migrate, install WebSphere Application Server (Base or Express) or WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment Version 6.0. For more information on installing WebSphere Application Server Version 6.0 Express, see Installation of WebSphere Application Server Version 6.0 for OS/400.
- In addition to migrating your profiles (instances) and applications, you also need to familiarize yourself with the tools and features of Version 6.0. The Administering applications and their environments topic describes administrative tasks and the tools that are provided to perform those tasks.
- Verify that you have the minimum prerequisites required for migration. For more information, see Migration prerequisites.
- Evaluate the deprecated Version 6.0 items. For more information, see Deprecated Version 6.0 items.
