Checking your IBM HTTP Server version

At times, you might need to determine the version of your IBM HTTP Server installation.

OS/400

Run the STRTCPSVR command with the -V option:

STRTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(APACHEDFT '-V')
As an example, if HTTP Server (powered by Apache 2.0.43) is installed, the following message is displayed:
Server version: Apache/2.0.43
Server built:   Nov 26 2002 15:57:01

Distributed platforms

  1. Change directory to the installation root of the Web server. For example, this is /opt/IBMIHS on a Solaris machine.

  2. Find the subdirectory that contains apache.exe (on a Windows platforms) or apachectl (on a UNIX-based platforms, such as z/OS, Solaris, Linux, and HP-UX)

    • On a Windows platform, issue:
      apache.exe -V

    • On a UNIX-based platforms issue:
      ./apachectl -V 4

ResultThe version is shown in the "Server version:" field and will looks something like the following:

Server version: IBM_HTTP_Server/2.0.47 Apache/2.0.47 
Server built: July 2 2004 20:38:36 
Server's Module Magic Number: 20020903:4.
