Set up Site Builder administrators

HCL WebSphere Portal administrators can use Site Builder to create sites or add sections to existing site from the available templates.

1. Log in to the portal as an administrator.

Assign User access for anchor pages

2. In the administration toolbar, click Access > Resource Permissions.

   1. Click Pages on the Select Resource Type view.

   2. Browse to any content page that the user and groups need to use as section anchors.

   3. Click the Assign Access icon.

   4. For the User role, click the Edit Role icon.

   5. Add the users and groups we want to add as Site Builder administrators.

   6. Click OK.

   7. Click Content Root.

   8. Click Apply.

   9. Click Pages.

   10. Repeat this process for all necessary pages.

Assign User access for Web Content Libraries

3. In the administration toolbar, click Portal Content > Web Content Libraries.

   1. Browse to the Site Builder Template Library.

   2. Click the Set Permissions icon.

   3. For the Administrator role, click the Edit Role icon.

   4. Add the users and groups we want to add as Site Builder administrators.

   5. Click OK.

   6. Click Resources.

   7. Click Apply and Done.

4. Open portal administration and click Portal Content > Web Content Libraries.

   1. Browse to the library that the users and groups need to use as the source for initial content and supporting assets for their new sites and sections.

   2. Click the Set Permissions icon.

   3. For the Contributor role, click the Edit Role icon.

   4. Add the users and groups we want to add as Site Builder administrators.

   5. Click OK.

   6. Click Resources.

   7. Click Apply and Done.

   8. Repeat this process for all necessary libraries.

5. In the administration toolbar, click Portal Content > Web Content Libraries.

   1. Browse to the library that the users and groups need to use as the existing content library for their new sites and sections.

   2. Click the Set Permissions icon.

   3. For the Editor role, click the Edit Role icon.

   4. Add the users and groups we want to add as Site Builder administrators.

   5. Click OK.

   6. Click Resources.

   7. Click Apply and Done.

   8. Repeat this process for all necessary libraries.

Assign role access

If the Site Builder administrators are required to import and export site and section templates, the following access roles must be set.

6. In the administration toolbar, click Access > Resource Permissions.

7. Click Virtual Resources.
8. Click PORTAL.

   1. Click the Assign Access icon.

   2. For the Security Administrator role, click the Edit Role icon.

   3. Add the users and groups we want to add as Site Builder Administrators with import/export access.

   4. Click OK.

9. Click PORTAL.

   1. Click Apply.

   2. Click Virtual Resources.

10. Click XML ACCESS.

    1. Click the Assign Access icon.

    2. For the Editor role, click the Edit Role icon.

    3. Add the users and groups we want to add as Site Builder Administrators with import/export access.

    4. Click OK.

11. Click XML ACCESS.

    1. Click Apply.

    2. Click Virtual Resources.

Assign administrator access to the Site Builder portlet

12. In the administration toolbar, click Portlet Management > Portlets.

13. Search for the Site Builder portlet.

14. Click the Access icon.
15. For the Administrator role, click the Edit Role icon.

16. Add the users and groups we want to add as Site Builder Administrators.

17. Click OK.
