Set up Site Builder administrators
HCL WebSphere Portal administrators can use Site Builder to create sites or add sections to existing site from the available templates.
- Log in to the portal as an administrator.
- Assign User access for anchor pages
- In the administration toolbar, click Access > Resource Permissions.
- Click Pages on the Select Resource Type view.
- Browse to any content page that the user and groups need to use as section anchors.
- Click the Assign Access icon.
- For the User role, click the Edit Role icon.
- Add the users and groups we want to add as Site Builder administrators.
- Click OK.
- Click Content Root.
- Click Apply.
- Click Pages.
- Repeat this process for all necessary pages.
- Assign User access for Web Content Libraries
- In the administration toolbar, click Portal Content > Web Content Libraries.
- Browse to the Site Builder Template Library.
- Click the Set Permissions icon.
- For the Administrator role, click the Edit Role icon.
- Add the users and groups we want to add as Site Builder administrators.
- Click OK.
- Click Resources.
- Click Apply and Done.
- Open portal administration and click Portal Content > Web Content Libraries.
- Browse to the library that the users and groups need to use as the source for initial content and supporting assets for their new sites and sections.
- Click the Set Permissions icon.
- For the Contributor role, click the Edit Role icon.
- Add the users and groups we want to add as Site Builder administrators.
- Click OK.
- Click Resources.
- Click Apply and Done.
- Repeat this process for all necessary libraries.
- In the administration toolbar, click Portal Content > Web Content Libraries.
- Browse to the library that the users and groups need to use as the existing content library for their new sites and sections.
- Click the Set Permissions icon.
- For the Editor role, click the Edit Role icon.
- Add the users and groups we want to add as Site Builder administrators.
- Click OK.
- Click Resources.
- Click Apply and Done.
- Repeat this process for all necessary libraries.
If the Site Builder administrators are required to import and export site and section templates, the following access roles must be set.
- Assign role access
- In the administration toolbar, click Access > Resource Permissions.
- Click Virtual Resources.
- Click PORTAL.
- Click the Assign Access icon.
- For the Security Administrator role, click the Edit Role icon.
- Add the users and groups we want to add as Site Builder Administrators with import/export access.
- Click OK.
- Click PORTAL.
- Click Apply.
- Click Virtual Resources.
- Click XML ACCESS.
- Click the Assign Access icon.
- For the Editor role, click the Edit Role icon.
- Add the users and groups we want to add as Site Builder Administrators with import/export access.
- Click OK.
- Click XML ACCESS.
- Click Apply.
- Click Virtual Resources.
- Assign administrator access to the Site Builder portlet
- In the administration toolbar, click Portlet Management > Portlets.
- Search for the Site Builder portlet.
- Click the Access icon.
- For the Administrator role, click the Edit Role icon.
- Add the users and groups we want to add as Site Builder Administrators.
- Click OK.
