Installation requirements for DB2 Connect Personal Edition (Windows)
Before you install DB2 Connect™ Personal Edition on Windows® operating systems, ensure that the system you choose meets the necessary operating system, hardware, software, and communications requirements.
To install DB2 Connect Personal Edition, the following requirements must be met: - Operating system requirements
- One of:
- Windows XP Professional Edition (32-bit and 64-bit) with Service Pack 2 or later
- Windows 2003 with Service Pack 1 or later:
- Standard Edition (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Advanced Edition (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Datacenter Edition (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Software requirements

- MDAC 2.8 is required. The DB2® Setup wizard will install MDAC 2.8 if it is not already installed.
- A browser is required to view online help.
- Communication requirements

- TCP/IP is supported and supplied by the operating system.
- Windows (64–bit)
