Migrate the WebSphere Commerce Version 8 production database
Migrating our production database is completed in two parts: migrating a copy (or offline version) of our production database, and migrating the live version of the database. By migrating an offline version of our production database, we can test that database in the WebSphere Commerce Version 9 production environment.
Procedure
- Prepare the environment for migration.
Now that you have migrated your development environment and deployed the containers in WebSphere Commerce Version 9, we can now build and deploy our customizations, and migrate the WebSphere Commerce Version 8 database to WebSphere Commerce Version 9.- Migrate an offline version of our production database.
Before we can migrate your live WebSphere Commerce Version 8 database to the WebSphere Commerce Version 9 environment, migrate an offline version of the WebSphere Commerce Version 8 database, so we can perform the necessary testing of your migrated WebSphere Commerce Version 8 assets. The offline WebSphere Commerce Version 8 database is the WebSphere Commerce Version 8 database that you restored to the WebSphere Commerce Version 9 environment.- Migrate your live database.
Migrate your live WebSphere Commerce Version 8 database by pointing the WebSphere Commerce Version 9 environment to the live WebSphere Commerce Version 8 database. Then, run the premigration checker and migration utility, all while serving live traffic.
