Migrate the WebSphere Commerce Version 7 Feature Pack 6 development database

To migrate the development database from Feature Pack 6 to WebSphere Commerce version 9.0.0.3+, we must first prepare your Feature Pack 6 development database and the WebSphere Commerce 9.0.0.3+ development environment. Next, you run the migration utility to migrate your Feature Pack 6 development database to WebSphere Commerce 9.0.0.3+, then run the updatedb utility to bring the database up to the WebSphere Commerce 9.0.0.3+ level.

Procedure

1. Preparing to migrate the development database.
   Prepare to migrate the development database by backing up the WebSphere Commerce Version 7 development database, then restore the database backup to the WebSphere Commerce Version 9.0.0.1+ development environment. Next, point the WebSphere Commerce Version 9.0.0.1+ development environment to the restored database backup.

2. Migrate the development database.
   By now, you configured the WebSphere Commerce Version 9.0.0.1+ development environment to use the WebSphere Commerce Version 7 development database. Migrate this WebSphere Commerce Version 7 database to WebSphere Commerce Version 9 by running the migration check and migration utility through command line. Then, run the updatedb utility to upgrade the database to WebSphere Commerce Version 9.0.0.1+.
