Change your preferences

We can set preferences to specify the default store to work with, user interface language, format of numbers, dates, and times, time zone, the first day of the week, page size, whether to display WebSphere Commerce Accelerator as an option in the Management Center Tools menu, and help options. Your preferences take effect immediately and are active until you change them.


Procedure

  1. Open the Management Center.

  2. From the Management Center menu, click Preferences.

  3. From the Preferences dialog:

    Option Description
    Store Name Type the name of the store to work with, each time you use the Management Center. To search for a store name, click Find. On the Store search dialog, type a store name and click OK. A list of stores that we are authorized to work with displays.
    Language Select the language that you will use when managing tasks with the Management Center. All text on the Management Center user interface will display in this language. This value is preselected as United States English.Restriction: Change the Language preference before we select a store or begin working with a tool. Changing the preferred language while we are working can result in information being displayed that is not applicable to the newly selected language.
    Number format Select the number format to use as the default number format. All number formats displayed in the Management Center user interface will use this format. For example, all numeric fields and currency fields are displayed using this number format.
    Date format Select the date format to use as the default date format. All date formats displayed in the Management Center user interface will use this format.
    Time format Select the time format to use as the default time format. All time formats displayed in the Management Center user interface will use this format.
    Time zone Select the time zone to use as the default time zone. All dates and times displayed in the Management Center user interface will use this time zone. By default, this value is set to the time zone of the server.
    Start week with this day Select the day to use by default as the first day of the week when managing tasks with the Management Center.
    Page size Select the number of business objects to display on each page in the Management Center so that you do not need to wait for all business objects to load. For example, if you specify 50 as the page size, 50 business objects are displayed on each page. By default, 500 business objects display on each page. Business users can navigate to additional objects not displayed on a page:

      Explorer view

      • Right-click in the explorer view; then click Load Next Page or Load Previous Page.

      • In the search results list within the main work area, click the

        and

        icons.

      Utilities view

      • In the Find tab, click the

        and

        icons.

      • In the Browse tab, right-click; then click Load Next Page or Load Previous Page.

    Enable Detailed Tooltips This option is enabled by default and displays detailed help for fields that provide additional information within the Management Center. Select the help icon

    displayed next to some user interface elements (such as a field or a list) to learn more about the particular element.

    Enable WebSphere Commerce Accelerator This option is not enabled by default. When enabled, this option displays the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator menu option in the Management Center Tools menu. Select this menu option to launch WebSphere Commerce Accelerator in a separate browser window from within Management Center. Use WebSphere Commerce Accelerator to manage store tasks not included with Management Center, such as order or shipping information.

    This option is viewable only when using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser. WebSphere Commerce Accelerator supports only the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.

    Use CKEditor This option is not enabled by default. When enabled, this option switches Management Center tools to use an enhanced rich text editor instead of the default Management Center rich text editor. See Rich text editor (CKEditor).

  4. Click OK to save your preferences.
