Deleting promotions

We can delete promotions from Management Center if they are no longer used on the store, or if the promotion is incorrect.

Before beginning

Ensure that your promotion meets the following conditions before you delete this promotion:

• Your promotion is not referenced by a marketing activity.

• Your promotion is one of the following states:

  • Inactive.

  • Archived

Procedure

1. Open the Promotions tool.

2. Find the promotion to delete.

3. From the explorer view, click Promotions. The Promotions - List page opens.

4. Right-click the promotion to delete. Click Delete.

Results

The promotion is removed and no longer displays in the Promotions - List page.

Note: By default, the database record corresponding to a deleted promotion is marked for deletion, but the record is not physically removed from the database. The Database Cleanup utility can be configured to physically remove the promotion from the database.

When you delete a promotion, the reference to the deleted promotion in other promotion folders are deleted.
