Creating versions of bundles or kits

We can create versions of bundles or kits. For example, before you change a bundle or a kit for an event, we can create a version. After the event is over, we can restore the created version. When creating a version, the version is based on the latest changes in the bundle or kit. If you modify the bundle or kit, the version remains unchanged.

Before beginning

Review the following page for a list of which parts of the bundle or kit are saved when a version is created: Manage bundle and kit versions.

Procedure

1. Open the Catalogs tool.

2. Find the bundle or kit you want to create versions for.

3. On the list view or explorer tree, right-click the bundle or kit and click Open. In the Versions tab, click the Create Version icon . Alternately, we can select the bundle or kit, then click Edit > Create Version. We can create versions for multiple bundles or kits at once:

   • From the explorer tree, right-click on the parent category, and select Show Catalog Entries.

   • In the Catalog Entries List view, select the bundles or kits we want to create versions for, then click Edit > Create Version; press control and click to select multiple bundles or kits.

4. In the Create Version window, enter the version name and description of the version; click Create.

   Note: When you create versions for multiple bundles or kits at once, the versions that are created all use the same version name and description as specified.
