(Enterprise)Create a price rule
Create price rules by choosing the set of instructions to use to set pricing for the store. You create price rules using the Price Rule Builder in the Catalog Filter and Pricing tool.
- Creating a simple price rule
We can create a price rule that contains one or more instructions to set pricing for catalog entries on the storefront. Each instruction is represented as an action in the price rule flow.- Creating a price rule that contains branching with conditions
We can create a price rule that can price catalog entries differently depending on certain conditions. Those conditions can relate to the part of the catalog to which the catalog entry belongs, or the customer viewing the catalog entry, or some other condition. For each condition, we can specify one or more pricing instructions. Each instruction is represented as an action in the price rule flow.- Creating a price rule that uses the Coordinator Branch
We can set up a price rule that coordinates how a set of price rules works together using the Coordinator Branch. For this type of price rule, we must have a set of existing price rules to coordinate. Then, in a new price rule, we must nest the existing price rules by using Apply Nested Price Rule actions on separate paths. Optionally, we can use the Apply Rounding action in the new price rule to round the prices that the price rule generates.- Creating a price rule to price catalog entries owned by an extended site store
You might have an extended site store that owns a subset of catalog entries, even though the store inherits all other catalog entries from a catalog asset store. If so, we can create a price rule in the extended site store. This price rule provides separate pricing for the catalog entries that are owned by the extended site store on one path while reusing the price rule from the storefront asset store on another path. If you do not want the extended site store to reuse the price rule from the storefront asset store, then this topic does not apply and we can build the extended site store's price rule any way you like.- Creating an external price rule that references an ILOG JRules ruleset
If the site is integrated with IBM WebSphere ILOG JRules BRMS for pricing, we can create price rules in Management Center that reference ILOG JRules rulesets. The price rule created, which is called an external price rule, acts as a "wrapper" for the ILOG JRules ruleset. This price rule allows us to use the ILOG JRules ruleset for pricing on WebSphere Commerce stores.
