(Enterprise)Scenarios for creating catalog filters
The following scenarios show you how to create catalog filters by specifying categories, catalog entries, catalog entry properties, and attribute dictionary attributes.
- Scenario 1: Creating a catalog filter based on catalog entries
This scenario shows you how to create a catalog filter based on catalog entries only. In a catalog filter, catalog entries included or excluded are evaluated before other filtering criteria. For example, you could exclude the TV category, but explicitly include one TV. The TV is included in the filter.- Scenario 2: Creating a catalog filter based on categories
This scenario shows you how to create a catalog filter based on categories. When a category is included in a catalog filter, all the catalog entries and child categories under this category are also included. When a category is excluded in a catalog filter, all the catalog entries and child categories under this category are also excluded.- Scenario 3: Creating a catalog filter based on categories with attribute dictionary attributes and properties conditions
This sample scenario shows you how to create a catalog filter by specifying categories with conditions. In addition to including or excluding categories from the catalog, we can apply conditions on individual categories or the entire catalog. The conditions can be composed of attribute dictionary attributes or catalog entry properties. For example, we can mark down the catalog entries that are made by a particular manufacturer by a particular percentage. In this case, you would create a category-based filter that uses the Manufacturer Name catalog entry property.
