(Enterprise)Actions in price rules
Actions represent the instructions in a price rule. To include an action in a price rule, drag the action from the palette into the work area of the Price Rule Builder.
Action Function Looks up the price of the catalog entry in a price list you specify. Performs a calculation to adjust a price. Nests another price rule within the current price rule. When the nested price rule is reached in the price rule flow, the instructions in the nested price rule are applied. Rounds up prices so they look more attractive to customers. For example, we can round up prices to the nearest .49 or .99.
- Action: Get Price from Price List
Use this action to specify an existing price list to use in the price rule. For example, we can specify the Offer Price list in this action. As a result, the price rule will get prices for catalog entries from the price list you specify.- Action: Calculate Price
Use this action in a price rule to perform a calculation that adjusts a price.- Action: Apply Nested Price Rule
Use this action to nest another price rule within the current price rule. The current price rule will use the instructions in the nested price rule to set pricing. We can place the nested price rule on any path in the current price rule.- Action: Apply Rounding
Use this action in a price rule to round up prices so that they are more attractive to customers. For example, we can apply rounding to prices calculated in a price rule so that they all end with .99. Rounding is particularly useful in price rules that calculate new prices from existing price lists, since the calculated price might not look the way we want it to without rounding.
