Install the IBM Db2 database

Install IBM Db2 Version 11.1.2.2 or a later 11.1.x version to serve as the database.

Note: The Db2 registry variable Db2_COMPATIBILITY_VECTOR is not supported.

Before beginning

Important: If we are migrating from an earlier version of WebSphere Commerce, install the new IBM Db2 Version 11.1 database on the same platform. A database backup can only be restored on a system within the same platform family. See . If you do not have the IBM Db2 Software, then download the eAssembly.

  1. Log on to Passport Advantage.

  2. Search for part number CJ2ZJML to find the eAssembly for IBM Db2 Advanced Workgroup Server Edition. This is the eAssembly for IBM WebSphere Commerce V9.0 - IBM Db2 Advanced Workgroup Server Edition V11.1 Multiplatform Multilingual eAssembly. Download the part that corresponds to the operating system to which you plan to install IBM Db2.Restriction: IBM Db2 Advanced Workgroup Server Edition may use a maximum of 16 processor cores and 128 GB of memory on each physical or virtual server; however, if Db2 is used on a cluster of servers that are configured to work together that use database partitioning or other permitted clustering technology, Db2 may use a maximum of 16 processor cores and 128 GB of memory across all virtual or physical servers in that cluster.

Additionally, to overcome the restriction, we can download and install IBM Db2 OEM High Capacity. Search for part number CJ2ZKML to find the eAssembly. Download part number CNB26ML and extract the package.
