Recommended fixes and settings for WebSphere Commerce Version 9

The following table provides a list of recommended, generally available (GA) fixes and settings for WebSphere Commerce Version 9 releases.

Ensure that the environment is updated to the recommended fixes and settings to optimize the WebSphere Commerce environment and its related products. WebSphere Commerce Update Packages contain multiple corrections and improvements in the areas of function, security, stability, and performance. IBM recommends that you run the WebSphere Commerce site with current update package. As with all production changes, when you apply update packages, complete rigorous functional and performance verification tests with custom code.

Even if an update is not in your schedule, review the information about recommended fixes and settings in the following table to keep informed about corrections and improvements to WebSphere Commerce. We can use this information to determine how the site might benefit from an upgrade. Tips:


Recommended fixes and settings

Software Recommended Level
WebSphere Commerce

  • If you have upgraded to 9.0.1, we are using the most current and recommended level of WebSphere Commerce.

  • If you have not upgraded to 9.0.1, we are using 9.0.0.x. The most current and recommended level is 9.0.0.10.

    Note: The Version 9.0.0.10 package is available for download on the IBM Cloud Registry. We can download this package from Passport Advantage in approximately 7 days after the release.

WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Application Server Liberty

  • WebSphere Application Server for WebSphere Commerce Runtime is updated to Version 9.0.0 Fix Pack 9 (or 9.0.0.9). To support the Runtime environment, the required level of WebSphere Application Server for WebSphere Commerce Developer is also Version 9.0.0 Fix Pack 9 (or 9.0.0.9).

IBM DB2 database

  • The minimum required database level for DB2 is DB2 V11.1 Mod 2 Fix Pack 5 (or 11.1.2.2).

Oracle database

  • The minimum required database level for Oracle is Oracle 12c Release 2 (12.2.0.1.0).

(Developer) IBM Rational Application Developer

  • The minimum required level of Rational Application Developer is Version 9.6.
