Open the Administration Console

Users with Site Administrator access can open the Administration Console.

If we are using using Microsoft Internet Explorer, WebSphere Commerce Accelerator, Administration Console and Organization Administration Console are compatible with Internet Explorer 10 and 11, only when Internet Explorer is run in Compatibility Mode.


Before beginning

On the workstation where we are using the Administration Console, set up the display:

Also, disable or remove any pop-up blocking software. Pop-up blocking software prevents the display of the Administration Console.


Procedure

  1. Ensure that you have Site Administrator access.

  2. Start the Administration Console:

    • Access the following web address in the browser:

      ...where host_name is the fully-qualified WebSphere Commerce web server host name. The host name may be a virtual host name on the web server

    • (Developer)

      1. Start WebSphere Commerce within WebSphere Commerce development environment.

      2. Access the following web address in the browser:

          https://host_name/webapp/wcs/admin/servlet/ToolsLogon?XMLFile=adminconsole.AdminConsoleLogon

        where host_name is the fully-qualified WebSphere Commerce development environment web server host name. The host name may be a virtual host name on the web server.

  3. Log onto the Administration Console, as follows:

    1. From the Logon page, type your Administration Console logon user name and password.

      (Developer) The default user name and password are both wcsadmin.

    2. Click Log On.

      If we are authorized to work with more than one store or language, the Administration Console Site/Store Selection page displays. If we are authorized to work with a single store and language, the Administration Console home page displays. Tasks that we are authorized to perform display in the Administration Console home page.

    3. From the Administration Console Site/Store Selection page, select the Site or Store radio buttons.

    4. If we selected Site, then Click OK and the Site Administration Console home page displays.

      If we selected Store, then we can choose the store name and language from the Name and Language drop-down lists. Then Click OK to display the Administration Console home page.
