Database backup

It would be a good idea at this time to reorganize the tables and run statistics on the commerce database.

To complete this task:

1. Open a DB2 command window.

2. Enter the following commands:

db2 connect to dbname user dbuser using dbpassword

db2 reorgchk update statistics on table all

db2rbind dbname all -l logfile

dbname is the name of the database housing the WebSphere Commerce Instance.

dbuser is the user ID of the schema owner.

dbpassword is the user password.

logfile is the name of the file to write the log to.

3. Close the DB2 command window.

Before publishing a sample store to verify the runtime environment, you should create a backup of the WCS instance database (for example, mall) and WebSphere Commerce Payments database (for example, wpm).

For details, refer to the DB2 Administration Guide.
