Troubleshoot: Enabling Domino LDAP security with WebSphere Portal 6.1 affects Portal node federation
The WebSphere Portal Server Administration Console fails to open after enabling Domino LDAP security with WebSphere Portal 6.1.
The SystemOut.log shows the following error:
00000021 extension E com.ibm.wsspi.webcontainer.extension.WebExtensionProcessor createServletWrapper Error occured while preparing the servlet for initialization. java.lang.Exception: java.lang.NullPointerException at com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.servlet.ServletWrapper.loadServlet(ServletWrapper.java:1759) at com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.servlet.ServletWrapper.initialize(ServletWrapper.java:1593) at com.ibm.wsspi.webcontainer.extension.WebExtensionProcessor.createServletWrapper(WebExtensionProcessor.java:98) Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException at com.ibm.ws.classloader.ZipFileHandle.close(ZipFileHandle.java:52) at com.ibm.ws.classloader.SinglePathClassProvider$ZipFileCache.removeEldestEntry(SinglePathClassProvider.java:635) at java.util.LinkedHashMap.addEntry(LinkedHashMap.java:410) at java.util.HashMap.put(HashMap.java:385)
Solution
Restarting all affected components, for example, DM, node agent, and application servers, should resolve the error.
It is also recommended to clear the Java virtual machine class sharing cache. See the -Xshareclasses:none argument in Java virtual machine settings for more information.
