Configuration management mechanisms

Many Sales Center client configuration settings are exposed through Preferences pages. Some of these pages are hidden from users under normal circumstances, and to make them accessible requires starting Sales Center in administrator mode.

Often an IT organization will prefer to hide the Preference pages from end users and instead to control client configuration settings remotely. A DMS server may be used to query and modify settings, and is the recommended mechanism for remote administration. For deployments that do not include DMS, it is also possible to distribute configuration settings in files.
