Integrate WebSphere Commerce with Taxware
To build and maintain a highly secure e-commerce site with a worldwide tax calculation process, you can integrate WebSphere Commerce with Taxware, a third-party tax calculation system. Taxware and its TaxWareLink package enable integration with WebSphere Commerce by implementing the tax integration API, a set of task commands called by the order component to communicate with the third-party tax calculation system when the tax integration feature is enabled.
- Install Taxware
You must install Taxware before you can integrate it with WebSphere Commerce.
- Set up a customer profile with Taxware
After you install Taxware, set up a customer profile.
- Deploy the TaxwareLink package to the WebSphere Commerce environment
When integrating WebSphere Commerce with Taxware, extract the TaxwareLink package to the WebSphere Commerce environment.
- Add the Taxware data to the WebSphere Commerce database
To integrate WebSphere Commerce with Taxware, add the Taxware data for the published store to the database.
- Enable promotions in Taxware
To use promotions in WebSphere Commerce and have Taxware calculate tax based on the discounted prices instead of the original prices, enable promotions in Taxware.
- Debug Taxware-related problems
You can debug Taxware-related issues to determine if they are WebSphere Commerce exceptions or Taxware problems.
