Install Rational Application Developer or Rational Software Architect
Overview
Installing Rational Application Developer V7.5.4 or Rational Software Architect V7.5.4 is the first step of installing WebSphere Commerce Developer. The IBM Installation Manager is installed when you install either of these products.
- Rational Application Developer V7.5.4 is packaged with WebSphere Commerce.
- Rational Software Architect V7.5.4 is not packaged with WebSphere Commerce Developer, but you can install it separately.
Procedure
- Log on as a user with Administrator privileges.
- Install Rational Application Developer or Rational Software Architect, following the appropriate product documentation:
- Rational Application Developer V7.5.4 documentation
- Rational Software Architect V7.5.4 documentation
There are 2 paths created during the installation:
- Shared Resources Directory
- Installation Directory
Do not accept the default installation paths. Specify short directory names such as...
C:\RAD75\SDP
...for Installation Directory and...
C:\RAD75\SDPShared
...for Shared Resources Directory.
The default installation path is too long for configuration with the WebSphere Commerce toolkit.
Avoid using periods ("."), spaces, or dollar signs ("$") in the directory names.
