Troubleshoot: Export fails when installing a fix pack or APAR
When applying a fix pack or APAR to the WebSphere Commerce instance, you receive an error that the WCS instance failed to export.
Problem
When using the WebSphere Commerce Update Installer to install fix package on the server, you receive the following message:
Failed to export the WCS instance to C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\1\wcupdate directory. For more information, see the log file: "C:\IBM\WebSphere\CommerceServer70\logs\update\actions\install\exportear_WC_demo.log".However, the exportear_WC_demo.log file does not exist.
Solution
To correct this problem, use either of the following solutions:
- You can install the Java SDK 1.6 SR7 Cumulative Fix for WebSphere Application Server 7.0.0.9 or later. For more information see, 7.0.0.9: Java SDK 1.6 SR7 Cumulative Fix for WebSphere Application Server
- Alternatively, you can update the setenv.bat file and install the fix pack or APAR again.
