Currency

You can display prices in the site in one currency, or you can use multiple currencies by following the instructions for the euro. For a site with multiple stores, you can use different currencies for the stores, or you can assign currencies to the store group. Depending on the type of site that you are creating, you can specify what currencies to use and how they are displayed. You can also allow customers to select a shopping currency.

If the currency is not the default for the store, then add the currency to the CURLIST database table. See Add supported currencies for instructions on this task. Many currencies are pre-installed with ISO codes and other currency information. If the currency is the default for the store, it is already supported in the STOREENT database table.

Important: Currencies that you specify in the SETCCURR column of the STORELANG table are also supported, but it is recommended that you do not use that column to specify a default currency for any new stores. This behavior will be deprecated in future releases.

The Store Profile notebook permits an administrator to select currencies from the SETCURR table to add to the CURLIST table, which lists the supported currencies, and to the STOREENT table, which lists the default currency for each store. Only one default currency per store is allowed in the database.

The STOREENT database table contains the default currency for each store in the table. The new currency must be added to the SETCURR database table. You might also need to customize in other ways, such as changing and Enable euro currency support for the store.

If you are creating a site that contains many stores, and if you anticipate that some of the stores will support the same currencies, follow the recommended strategies in Currency considerations for store groups.
