Verify the database is started on Windows

To ensure an operational WebSphere Commerce environment, the associated DB2 database can be activated through Windows services.

To ensure that DB2 is started on Windows

  1. Select...

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Computer Management | Services and Applications | Services

  2. Ensure that all services that start with "DB2" have a status of Started.

The following services are optional if you are using a local database:

    • DB2 Governor
    • DB2 JDBC Applet Server
    • DB2 Security Server

Refer to the DB2 documentation for information about when these services should be started.

  3. If any of these services are not started, right-click the service name and select Start from the pop-up window to start the service. Ensure that you start the services in the order they are listed above. Starting the services in a different order may prevent DB2 from starting correctly.
