Configure Novell eDirectory for use with WebSphere Commerce

If you use Novell eDirectory, follow the steps on this page.

Before you begin

Procedure

  1. Add the following suffix Distinguished Name (DN) to your directory server:

    o=root organization

  2. Restart the directory server.

  3. Add the following organization Relative Distinguished Name (RDN) to the directory server: o=root organization

  4. Add the following organization RDN as a child of the o=root organization RDN to the directory:

    o=default organization

    You can customize these names to match the own settings. For example, you can use "dc=ibm,dc=com" instead of "o=root organization" and "cn=users,dc=ibm,dc=com" instead of "o=default organization, o=root organization". Refer to the documentation for the version of Novell eDiretory for instructions on how to complete these tasks.

  5. If the member hierarchy has an organizational entity of type "o" (organization) under another organizational entity of type "o", then ensure that the Novell eDirectory schema has been configured to support this. Some of the WebSphere Commerce store models create organizations under organizations. Complete the following steps:

    1. Start Novell ConsoleOne

    2. Select Wizards > NDS Import/Export > Import LDIF File.

    3. Click Next.

    4. Select the orgContainment.ldif file, which can be found in orgContainment.zip.

    5. Click Next.

    6. Select the LDAP server.

    7. Select Authenticated Login.

    8. Specify the User DN. For example: cn=admin,ou=novell,o=com

    9. Specify a password.

    10. Click Next and Finish.

    11. Verify the wizard has run successfully and click Close.
