Start Configuration Manager on Windows

Procedure

  1. Start server1

  2. Open Windows Services...

Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services

and verify that the server service...

    IBM WC 7.0 Configuration Manager

    ...has a status of Started.

  3. Open the Configuration Manager interface...

Start | Programs | IBM WebSphere | Commerce Server v7.0 | Configuration Manager

  4. In authentication window, enter user ID and password and click OK.

The Configuration Manager provides a graphical interface for configuring an instance.

Leaving the IBM WC 7.0 Configuration Manager server service running could potentially pose a security problem. Stop the service when you are not using Configuration Manager. By default, this service is stopped when you exit Configuration Manager. IBM recommends setting the service to manual startup, not automatic.

Mapped remote directory

To use a mapped remote directory for a Web server, start Configuration Manager server using...

WC_INSTALL/bin/config_server.bat

Starting it using Windows Services will cause a "remote directory not found" error.
