Troubleshoot: Change flow process hangs

You change information about the change flow pages and save the changes. The save action hangs and a timeout message is logged.


Problem

Within the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator, the Store > Change Flow action is selected. You make changes on one of more of the pages and then click Apply or OK.. If the FlexFlowUpdate command runs for five minutes or longer, check the SystemOut.log file for this message:

CommerceSrvr  E com.ibm.commerce.webcontroller.WebControllerHelper
executeCommand(ViewCommandContext,Map,String) CMN0409E: The following error has
occurred during processing: "javax.ejb.TransactionRolledbackLocalException:  ; nested exception is: javax.transaction.TransactionRolledbackException: Transaction is ended due to timeout".


Solution

To resolve the timeout issue, complete the following steps:

  1. Start the WebSphere Application Server administration server.

  2. Launch the WebSphere administrative console.

  3. Click Servers > Application Servers > server1.

  4. Expand Container Services and click Transaction Service.

  5. Update the value of Maximum transaction timeout to 0. Click OK.

  6. In the Messages box, click Save. Click Save to save the changes to the master configuration.

  7. Restart the WebSphere Commerce Server.

  8. Attempt the Change Flow action again.
