Enabling WebSphere Portal security with a LDAP user registry
When enabling WebSphere Portal security update your WebSphere Portal LDAP settings.About this taskProcedure
- Ensure that the WebSphere Portal environment is stopped.
- Ensure that Rational Application Developer 7.0 is stopped.
- Make a backup copy of the wpconfig.properties file in WP_installdir/config directory.
- Launch the Configuration Wizard, refer to Configure WebSphere Portal with the configuration wizard.
- Disable security:
- Select Disable Security and click Next.
- Type your WAS user name and password. Click Next.
- Type the location of your WebSphere Portal configuration file, or use the default helper file for your LDAP type. Click Next.
- Type your WebSphere Portal administrative user ID, password, and the Administration group ID. Click Next.
- On the Summary page, click Next.
- When the configuration is complete review the logs, and click Run the Wizard again.
- Enable LDAP security:
- Select Enable LDAP Security and click Next.
- Select the appropriate LDAP type and click Next.
- Type the location of your properties file. Click Next.
- Type your LDAP server information. Click Next. Multiple pages of LDAP server information are required. Complete these pages, then click Next. Important:
- If the Member Manager database type is Cloudscape, leave the wmm.DbUser and wmm.DbPassword fields empty.
- The LdapUserSuffix must correspond to the WebSphere Commerce default organization, and should be a child organization to the WebSphere Commerce root organization. For more information refer to Preparing LDAP with WebSphere Commerce and WebSphere Portal.
- On the Summary page, click Next.
- When the configuration is complete, review the logs, and click Finish. The location of the log file is displayed on the page, the default location is WP_installdir/log.
