Finding a category

To find a category:

  1. Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.

  2. Select Merchandise > Sales Catalogs.

    Select Products > Sales Catalogs.
    The Sales Catalogs page displays. If you do not see this menu, then your logon ID does not have the appropriate authority to perform this task. Contact your Site Administrator.

  3. From the list of available sales catalogs, select a catalog to work with and click Design.

  4. From the Target Catalog page, click Find Category. Alternatively, you can also click

    to launch the search dialog from the Source Catalog page.

  5. The Find Categories page displays. Provide any of the following category information (

    Ensure that the search criteria does not contain the following characters: %, \, ", _, and #):

    1. In the Code field, type the code to which the category is associated and select the search method from the list beside this field, as follows:

      • If you know the category's code, select Exact phrase to search for a category that is an exact match with the code provided. The system performs an exact search. If you type more than one word, such as abc 123, then the system only returns search results that match the combination and order of the given text.

      • If you only know part of the category's code, select Matches containing to search for categories that have codes which contain your search criteria. The system performs a fuzzy search. If you type more than one word, such as abc 123, then the system returns all matches for "abc" or "123". Only one word is needed for a search result.

    2. In the Name field, type the category name and select the search method from the list beside this field, as follows:

      • If you know the category's name, select Exact phrase to search for a category that is an exact match with the category name provided. The system performs an exact search. If you type more than one word, such as patio furniture, then the system only returns search results that match the combination and order of the given text.

      • If you only know part of the category's name, select Matches containing to search for categories that have names which contain your search criteria. The system performs a fuzzy search. If you type more than one word, such as patio furniture, then the system returns all matches for "patio" or "furniture". Only one word is needed for a search result.

    3. In the Catalog list, select the catalog which contains the category or categories.

  6. Click Find. A list of categories that match the search criteria displays.
