Troubleshoot: IBM Sales Center logon error messages (Windows XP)
During logon, the IBM Sales Center connects to the WebSphere Commerce Server (that is, to the host name or IP address of the machine where the WebSphere Commerce Server is installed). If there are any problems with the logon process an error message is displayed on the IBM Sales Center logon page.
Logon errors occur when there are problems with credentials for a user (user name, password, or both) or with connecting to the WebSphere Commerce Server.
Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) can follow these recovery steps if any error messages are encountered when logging into the IBM Sales Center:
- Verify the CSR's correct user name and password by referring to the information about finding user properties. Make sure to use a piece of known information about the CSR, such as the last name.
- The error message indicates if the CSR's password has expired. To change the CSR's password, refer to Change a WebSphere Commerce password.
- The host name and port used for the WebSphere Commerce Server is listed in the communication preferences dialog box in the IBM Sales Center. Refer to the information about setting communication preferences in the IBM Sales Center Information Center for details on how to view and change this setting.
