WebSphere Commerce Payments instance password
Each WebSphere Commerce Payments instance requires a password so that it can decrypt any sensitive data that is stored in the database. Protection of this password is therefore critical to protecting the security of your payment data. The IBMPayServer command is used to specify the WebSphere Commerce Payments instance password. The password is also required when issuing the StopIBMPayServer command.
The WebSphere Commerce Payments Instance password is set in the following places:
- In the WebSphere Commerce Payments Instance Creation wizard.
- In the WebSphere Commerce installation wizard when you choose the quick installation installation type.
This password is not required when the Password Required for startup check box is cleared in the WebSphere Commerce - Payments panel of the WebSphere Commerce Configuration Manager.
