Catalogs tool

The Management Center introduces a new tool that enables you to be more productive in the daily administration of your catalogs. The tool provides a flattened approach to managing categories, catalog entries, merchandising associations, product attributes. That is, fewer screens and fewer clicks to manage the assets.
Use the Management Center to:

  • Browse the master catalog

  • Create, change, and delete catalog groups in the master catalog

  • Add, change, and delete merchandising associations at the catalog group level

  • Create, change, and delete catalog entries in the master catalog

  • Add, change, and remove merchandising associations at the catalog entries level.

  • Add, change, sequence, and delete attributes and attribute values.

The catalogs tool provides the following screens:

The catalog list in the Management Center is unsorted by default. Use the sorting capability provided in the Management Center to sort any column as needed.

Use the Catalogs tool with workspaces

Multiple users cannot edit the same catalog entry in different workspaces. The Management Center locks a catalog entry when a user is editing it. The relationships to the catalog entry, such as sales catalogs that the catalog entry is part of, or merchandising associations related to the catalog entry can be edited when the catalog entry is locked. Additionally, catalog entries and categories are locked when the parent changes. During this process, the navigational relationships, such as the previous category group identifier, are locked.
