Technote

(troubleshooting)
Set up a Secured WebSphere MQ with WebSphere Commerce
Problem(Abstract)
This technote explains how to set up WebSphere MQ that requires authentication to work with the queues.
Resolving the problem

  1. Log in to your WAS console (http://hostname:9061/admin ).

  2. Under Security in the right pane, navigate to Global security > J2EE Connector Architecture (J2C) authentication data entries.

  3. Create a New entry, name the Alias "MQ Login." Type the username and password. This creates the entry required for sonic and authenticated connections.

  4. Go to your MQ Adapter settings.

  5. Navigate to JMS Connection Factories (this is where you set the JNDI name). Just under the JNDI, there should be a "Component-managed authentication alias " and "Container-managed authentication alias ". Set these to "MQ Login."

Save your settings and restart your servers. The passwords should now be supplied to WebSphere MQ when connecting.
