"Change Web Activity" GUI in the WebSphere Commerce

Accelerator takes a long time to load

Problem(Abstract)
Your "Change Web Activity" notebook in the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator sometimes takes a long time to load.
Cause
The store in question has a large amount of content associated with it. As a result, the application code to load the content into the two slosh buckets on the interface takes a long time to run. In order to see the amount of content associated with the store in question, get the number of records in the collateral table using this query:

select count(*) from COLLATERAL where storeent_id = storeent_id

Diagnosing the problem
The steps to reproduce this problem are:

  1. In the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator, go to the "Marketing" menu.

  2. Select "Campaign Activities".

  3. Select a check box next to an entry.

  4. Click "Change".

Resolving the problem
Contact WebSphere Commerce Support and request APAR IY95447. After this APAR is applied, the content will not be loaded when the interface is initially displayed. Instead, an inline search widget will be available in order to search for the desired content.
