MEMBER table deadlocks occur after installing

Problem(Abstract)
After installing the Coremetrics for IBM WebSphere Commerce enhancement, exceptions indicating transaction rollbacks and deadlocks appear in the SystemOut.log file. These exceptions look like the following example:

COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.DB2Exception: [IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/SUN64] SQL0911N The current transaction has been rolled back because of a deadlock or timeout. Reason code "2". SQLSTATE=40001

Cause
These exceptions are related to a known performance problem with the UserRegistrationDataBean which is used by the Coremetrics Tag Library for the Registration and Order tags. The UserRegistrationDataBean has been found to cause deadlocks and rollbacks while accessing the MEMBER table in the database, especially when many orders are being placed at the same time.
