Failure to apply APARs to Feature Pack 2 features
that have already been enabled

Problem(Abstract)
|
If you have already enabled a feature in Feature Pack 2
and now wish to apply an APAR to that feature, the installation of the
APAR may fail.
|
Cause
|
Maintenance information was missing when the feature is
enabled.
|
Resolving the
problem
|
Solution 1
1. Back up the contents of the
WC_installdir/instances/instance/properties/version
directory
2. Copy all the directories and files under
WC_installdir/components/enabled_featurename/wc.ear/properties/version
to WC_installdir/instances/instance/properties/version.
If a file already exists during the copy, do not overwrite the existing
file and move on to the next file.
3. Apply the appropriate Feature Pack 2 APAR.
4. If the Feature Pack 2 APAR was successfully applied, you may remove the
files that you backed up in step 1
5. Install WebSphere Commerce Fix Pack 3 before enabling any other
features to prevent this problem from happening in the future.
