XHTML compliance in WebSphere Commerce
ConsumerDirect sample store JSP pages

Technote
(FAQ)
Problem
|
Many different types of errors can cause non-compliant
XHTML. A common scenario is an element tag that is not properly closed
according to XHTML specifications, resulting in open HTML elements.
For example:
<meta name="description" content="Visit the largest online retail store
of apparel. Shop the wide selection in activewears, jeans, pants, shorts
and accessories for men and women.">
There should be a "/>" instead of a ">" at the end of the line.
Other errors can be detected by running the code from storefront JSP pages
through an HTML validator.

Cause
|
By default, JSP pages in the WebSphere Commerce
ConsumerDirect sample store are not valid XHTML 1.0 transitional
files.
