Set up the store with No Inventory still runs

Problem(Abstract)
|
You have no-inventory (-3) set up for a B2Bstore and you
have an order-level promotion enabled. You notice during the order
process, the system is checking for inventory even though you have
no-inventory set up. As a result, the free line item is removed from the
cart during OrderPrepare.

Cause
|
Although the no inventory option has been used, the store
checks for inventory for the free items due to a code defect.
|
Diagnosing the
problem
|
The following scenario reproduces the problem:
- Set up your store to use "No inventory".
- Create a promotion with free gift items.
- Create an order in the storefront that uses the promotion created in
step 2. During order prepare, the free item will be removed from the
cart.

Resolving the
problem
|
This problem (APAR JR28278) is resolved in Fix Pack 5
(6.0.0.5) or newer for IBM WebSphere Commerce 6.0. You can obtain Fix
Pack 5 (6.0.0.5) or newer from the WebSphere Commerce Fixes by version page.
