"Invalid number format for port number" error occurs in WebSphere Commerce when updating an Oracle database using the updatedb command

When updating the Oracle database with updatedb, the following error occurs in the log:

java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: Invalid number format for port number
Cause
The setting DBServerPort is not specified in the instance.xml file under WC_installdir/instances/instance/xml.

Answer

Specify the DBServerPort in the instance.xml file and re-run the updatedb command. This parameter is not required for DB2 configuration.
