Customizing the Web application configuration
To customize the configuration of your WebSphere Commerce instance, edit the WebSphere Commerce Struts custom configuration files, struts-config-ext.xml, which are included in each of the WebSphere Commerce Web modules. Confining customization to these files, in place of struts-config.xml, will ensure that your customizations are not overwritten during subsequent migration, fix pack installation, and other similar activities.The initial struts-config-ext.xml files supplied with WebSphere Commerce have no Struts resources defined and are templates ready to be populated. For example:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE struts-config PUBLIC "-//Apache Software Foundation//DTD Struts Configuration 1.1//EN" "http://jakarta.apache.org/struts/dtds/struts-config_1_1.dtd"> <struts-config> <!-- Data Sources --> <data-sources> </data-sources> <!-- Form Beans --> <!-- Global Exceptions --> <global-exceptions> </global-exceptions> <!-- Global Forwards --> <global-forwards> </global-forwards> <!-- Action Mappings --> <action-mappings type="com.ibm.commerce.struts.ECActionMapping"> </action-mappings> </struts-config>All configuration elements that you define in the struts-config-ext.xml files will supersede those defined in the primary Struts configuration files, struts-config.xml.
