Troubleshoot: Error logged during application migration

Application migration fails because of an incorrectly expanded EAR file.

 

Problem

When using WCIM to migrate your WebSphere Commerce application, a message similar to the following is logged:

Error: file:/QIBM/ProdData/CommerceServer60/migration/config/migratewc.xml:78:
/Qibm/UserData/CommerceServer60/temp/migrate/old.ear/Stores.war is not a directory.

 

Solution

The error indicates that the EAR file was incorrectly expanded or collapsed. If it is necessary to expand or collapse the ear file before the application migration, ensure that you use the java jar utility. This utility ensures that the EAR file is in the correct format for the WebSphere Commerce application migration.
