Recommended trace scripts

When using ISA to collect log files and other information, it returns more data than you really need. We can specify our own trace scripts to limit the amount of data collected by the tool.

This is an optional step. Only overwrite the trace scripts if we are sure that we do not need all of the data collected by the tool by default.

Trace strings define which level of trace to enable or disable and for which components. See Tracing and logging configuration.

After selecting the collections that represent the problem type in the ISA Lite tool, we are prompted to indicate whether IBM Support has requested entered additional trace strings. If we select Yes, we can specify our own trace strings, and then we can choose to replace the default set of trace strings with the own.

Refer to the following table for trace strings we can use to get the minimum required amount of data for each problem type.
